Globiqo

Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

[[LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME]] is the data controller for the Globiqo marketplace, with its registered office at [[REGISTERED_ADDRESS]]. You can reach us about privacy at [[PRIVACY_CONTACT_EMAIL]], and our data-protection contact is [[DPO_CONTACT]]. For events sold through a white-label organiser, that organiser is an independent controller of the data they collect through their own storefront, and Globiqo acts as their processor for that data. This means a dispute about how an organiser uses your data is, in the first instance, between you and that organiser.

2. What we collect

Account data such as your name, email, and phone number. Payment data: card payments are handled entirely by a third-party payment processor, and Globiqo never stores your full card number. Your ticket and order history. Device and usage data such as your device type and how you use the app. If you are an organiser, we also collect your business registration details, settlement bank details, and identity-verification documents. We collect your location only if you choose to grant it.

3. Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

To sell you a ticket and deliver it, which is performing our contract with you. To prevent fraud and keep the platform secure, which is our legitimate interest. To send you marketing, which we do only with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. To meet tax and identity-verification obligations, which is a legal duty. We rely on a lawful basis for each purpose as required by Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 and the equivalent laws in the countries where we operate.

4. Who we share it with

the payment processor, to process payments. Resend, to send you email. The organiser of any event whose ticket you buy: buying a ticket shares your name and email with that organiser so they can admit you and contact you about the event. Authorities, where we are legally compelled. We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Because we operate in five countries and use processors based abroad, your data may be transferred across borders. Where it is, we use a lawful transfer mechanism as required by the Nigeria Data Protection Act and South Africa's POPIA, so your data keeps its protection when it moves.

6. How long we keep it

Order and payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is typically several years. Account data for as long as you have an account. Marketing data until you withdraw consent. Verification documents for as long as we are required to hold them, and no longer than necessary.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it in certain ways, and you can withdraw consent to marketing at any time. To exercise any of these, contact [[PRIVACY_CONTACT_EMAIL]]. You also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority; in Nigeria this is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, and the other operating countries have their own.

8. Children

Globiqo is intended for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, you may use Globiqo only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect a child's personal data without that consent, and if we learn we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has given us data without a parent or guardian's consent, contact [[PRIVACY_CONTACT_EMAIL]] and we will act on it.

9. Security

We protect your data with technical and organisational measures appropriate to its sensitivity. Card details are handled entirely by a third-party payment processor and are never stored on Globiqo's systems. Organiser verification documents and settlement details are held with restricted access. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires, within the timeframes the law sets.

10. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and the site working, and these cannot be turned off. Any non-essential cookies, such as ones that help us understand how the site is used, are off by default. We will ask before setting them, and you can decline without losing the ability to buy tickets.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, tell you directly.
